They counsel those with significant behavioral and emotional needs, working to stabilize their behaviors and foster learning. IYO- The International Youth Organization has administered the States New Jersey Youth Corps for Newark and Essex County since the inception (1984) and has successfully trained thousands of youth and young adults who want a "second chance" at a brighter future.Under the State of New Jersey Labor and Workforce Development, the " corps" is a year-round voluntary program designed for youth and young adults ages 16 to 25 who have left high school before earning a diploma or obtaining adequate job skills.

Newark WORKS Youth One-Stop Career Center

Youth programs provide a wide range of services designed to increase youth and young adults' access to career pathways and leadership skills. We serve 5,000- 7,000 youth between the ages of 14-24 per year. Our services include: education support, employment counseling, leadership development, supportive services, work experiences, and referrals to outside agencies for training. Interested youth work with NYOSCC counselors to determine eligibility, provide counseling and placement for the following programs.

The Boys & Girls Club of Newark provides hundreds of children in Newark with a safe space to learn to make positive life choices, establish healthy habits, and develop academic skills. We have four main programs: After school, Summer, Teens, and Community Health.
